Technology is always improving, and here is an interesting anecdote highlighting the changes in technology from the 1920s to the 2010s.
In the 1920s this Underwood typewriter made it possible to type a section of text and was faster than handwriting, but tasks such as centering text took effort to manually compute. The text was typed once without any centering, so that the widest line could be identified. After manually finding the number of spaces before each line, the entire page would be retyped with the correct number of spaces in front of each line.
Between 2005 and 2012 Google developed and released Google Documents, which showcases some of the stunning developments in technology during those 90 years. From using a metal striker to type a letter through an ink ribbon to having an online document writing application where multiple authors can edit the same document and edits are saved to the cloud.
We continually explore, adopt, and develop new technologies that improve our efficiency and the efficiency of our clients. Currently these technologies are automation (CNC, laser engraving, 3d printing, pick and place machines), machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
